Overview

ACE™ is the 3M brand for muscle and joint wellness products. They were looking to grow their sales in retail space. My team identified unmet user needs and proposed digital solutions to improve overall user experience from pre-purchase , purchase and post-purchase stages.

Process

Competitor Analysis

We started this project with a direct competitor offering analysis in the retail space. I mapped out all the features based on price point and explored the white space for the client’s product line offering to differentiate from other competitors.

User interviews

We did qualitative research with actual users to understand the current experience using and purchasing experience products in retail stores

Persona Building

Based on our research , the team start to build persona’s for user profiles based on needs and behaviors

User Journey Mapping and Identifying Opportunities

Mapping out the customer journey map of our chosen persona to document the shopping experience and user experience helped us identify our focus and where a new solution could add value to those pain points.

Stakeholder Workshops & Strategy Alignment

I hosted various workshops with internal stakeholders , presenting all the research work and user journey map to bring everyone along with our customer learning. I conducted brainstorming sessions with research inputs for the project team to generate solutions and align on the path forward.

Wireframing: All UX Touchpoints

Taking the outputs of the workshop, The team created low-fidelity wireframes of the holistic experience.

Prototyping

The team made working prototypes to test user flow.

Usability Testing

We tested the first prototype with user on a staged planogram to mimic retail store shopping experience

Project Outcome

The fast pace and quick return of visualized concepts, detailing a holistic ecosystem of new products inspired the business to invest further in their digital capabilities and spin up a supporting new product introduction team to support turning these concept prototypes into reality
